Stanford, with a single digit acceptance rate, must be considered to be a major reach for any unhooked applicant. That said, if you don’t apply your chance of admission will be zero. So if you want be considered for Stanford apply and give it your all. But be certain to also seek out match and safety schools that appear affordable (run net price calculators) and that you would be excited to attend.
