I am an international student living in Turkey and I applied for ED. But I require financial aid.

What do you think? Any chance???

About the only possible thing I could see hurting your chances of admission are your Writing and CR scores, but with luck, your very impressive EC's might make up for them. I don't know how your int'l status will help or hurt your chances--for what it's worth, there is only one member of the class of 2009 from Turkey.

Is English your first language? If not (I don't know if this is still an option), you should probably take the TOEFL.

well I got 273/300 from toefl which is, i think okay.

well any other comment on my probablity to get in to Dartmouth? or am i that bad that you don't get into consideration ?? :(

Hmm, im also an international from Vietnam. Did you put down all those activities in your application cuz if u did, i think the admission officers will cry. Anyway, I think on the whole your application is good, except for your CR and writing. I mean Im not any better. Im also applying Ed and hope we'll both get through. Cheers man.

you attended a school in Norway? which one?

Sometimes I think it's difficult for a lot of us on this board to gauge the chances of international applicants, because standards for admission are obviously quite different than for American students. Thus I feel I don't really have a view on the situation that is quite as accurate as my view on the standards for non-internationals. You definitely have strong consideration though. Wish I could tell you more. Good luck, only a monthish longer!

well i attended in Norway in stavanger but i really don't remember the name of the school :) I also got my sat 2 scores mat1c 770 mat2c 760 and bio m 750...

by the way good louck to every one :)
cheers :)

PS: i am so ******* nervous... :(

well about the activities i didnt put it in the common app form but i said pleas see the ec paper and i sended an extra paper for the activities :)

"Did you put down all those activities in your application cuz if u did, i think the admission officers will cry."

Megagear65, or anyone else: is it bad to put that many EC's??? or good?

" I applied for ED." <-you already applied. so what good is it worrying about what a bunch of fellow applicants say about your chances now? you'll get your decision in a week--just hang in there and good luck!

i mean that quality counts, not quantity. If you put too many down, it just means that you did it for the sake of racking up a bunch of EC. If you do 2 or 3 but you devoted a hell lot into it, its more valuable.
