I attended a technical high school, and my academics weren't too impressive back then. I had a 3.6 GPA and got a 1920 on my SATs. However, I was very good in my trade area (Culinary Arts) and went through a series of competitions and won a gold medal in the statewide Skills USA competition for Culinary Arts.

I am now a freshman at UMASS Amherst and would like to try to transfer, but only if I can get into either Harvard or Yale. My college academics are much stronger than they were in high school. I am in the honors college at UMASS (Commonwealth College) and I took 21 credits last semester and I am taking 26 this semester. By the way, I am currently a triple-major student in Pre-SOM, Economics, and Resource Economics. These are the courses that I have taken/am taking:

Fall:
Intro to MicroEcon: A
Intro to MacroEcon: A
Honors College Writing: A-
Calculus I: A
Japanese Art and Culture: B+
Political Economy of Racism: A
SOM Seminar (1 credit): A
Notetaker for Disability Services (I credit): P

Winter (at Holyoke Community College):
Intro to Nutrition: A

Spring:
Intermed MacroEcon
Intermed MircoEcon
Game Theory
Notetaker for Disability Services (1 Credit)
Intro Stats (Graduate Education Course)
Calculus II
Honors Intro to Philosophy
Intro Stats (For Business and Econ Majors)
Intro to Food Marketing Econ

Right now my GPA is a 3.85 (or 3.87 if you include my Winter at HCC). I am also a member of the undergraduate Economics club.

I think that I might as well apply even if I just have a tiny chance of acceptance, and I won't be too upset if I don't get it. I like UMASS a lot, but I would much rather be surrounded by people interested in education instead of being only interested in parties.

Thanks
