Prospects of transferring to some potential colleges...

Hi all... I'm a UMass-Amherst Student and a member of the Honors College over there, just got done with my Freshman year. I plan on transferring after the first term next year... or much more likely after my Sophmore year (Junior Transfer).

My GPA is currently a 3.856(4.0, 15 Credits Spring 2006) with 28 credits (8 A's, 1 B- in Calculus---I suck at math). I plan on taking 3-6 more credits at a local college this summer, these will not count toward the GPA however. I will be taking 18 credits Fall Semester 2006 and do not plan on seeing anything less than a 3.7. My H.S. Stats are less then stellar, 1180 SAT(old) and 3.4 Weighted GPA, I hope these don't count to much, as I feel I've really begun to blossom in college. MY ECs in College are decent. I work and am fairly active in a few activities.

I plan on majoring in business or economics. My question is... what are some potential matches? What are my prospects (I know it's a bit premature and I have to continue to do very well) at schools such as UCLA, USC, UNC-Chapel Hill, UMich, NYU(Stern, I know this one is very unlikely, my father got his MBA from Stern and my sister just graduated from NYU if that helps at all) etc. Keep in mind I am out of state. Feel free to recommend any other potential matches you may see based on my stats.

Thanks for listening.

great chances for usc and unc-chapel hill. it's tough to transfer to ucla as an out-of-state student and if you plan on applying to the business school at umich, you probably won't get in. you have a great chance for Umich econ at LSA.

Thanks a ton forgiven... Do you know anything about the financial aid packages over at USC? I would need a good portion of help, honestly. How is the UMich econ program? Looks like I have some research to do.

Thanks for the reply.
