I'm only a junior, and I'm in Honors 1 courses. (My school has 5 levels instead of 4). Should I move down a level to bring my UW GPA up? What should I do to increase my chances?

Also, does anyone know of any colleges that I should consider? Safeties or matches?

To be honest,
Your GPA is a bit low and SAT Math is below their 25th percentile. To stand a good chance, you have to bring up your SAT Math to at least 600 if not 650+. Try to re-take SAT and shoot for 2000+.
Safeties for your stats are: UMass Colleges (Amherst, Boston, etc…)
Matches: Syracuse, UConn, American Universty, University of Delaware, Rutgers
High Matches: Penn State, Boston University, Fordham, Univ. of Pittsburgh, Northeastern

If you can bring up your SAT to 2000+, all the above should be a shoe in.

Good Luck!

ognyusa, I’ve heard UMASS Dartmouth had a highly competitive nursing program. Do you think I stand a chance there?

Yes, UMASS Dartmouth should be a saftety for you!

Hey! i thin you stand a chance. i got into northeastern the other day and these were my stats:

-international student
-doing the IB diploma programme (a bit harder than AP)
-3.4 GPA UW
-SAT: CR 570, math 620, writing 670

LOADS of ECs, good essays and amazing recs. i consider myself lucky, i can’t wait to visit. you stand a chance for sure! bring up your SAT score a bit and definitely get involved in more ECs, especially some service: volunteering, helping others etc…

! hope i helped.

^completely different story. Internationals don’t need a high SAT, I don’t even think they look at the SAT of international applicants.

Your GPA is on the low side but you can balance it out with a higher SAT. Focus on brining up your math.

yeah agreed. work on your math and a bit higher gpa and you shold be good. again, nursing is harder to get into.

and yeah, international students have it easier for US schools. especially if you do the IB.
