do I have any chance?

I’m a senior. I lived in Michigan for 16 years but in the eleventh grade I moved to Italy for my last two years of high school and will graduate from an international school in Italy. We still have a house in Michigan so I’m technically an in-state applicant at the University of Michigan.

gpa: 3.8
act composite: 27
english: 29
math: 28
– I know it’s low but I’m hoping my cultural experience and other factors will make up for this

what are my chances to be admitted to LSA as an anthropology major?

Owning property in Michigan does not make you a resident. Do your parents pay Michigan income taxes? Are either of you parents moving back to Michigan? You should check the residency requirements for in-state, but there are exceptions for military families and some others.

Your admission chances are much higher in-state.

Yes my parents pay Michigan taxes and we will all be moving back in June. I am positive that I qualify for in-state tuition.

Is your GPA weighed or unweighed? The 27 on the ACT will pinch, but with a 3.8 unweighed GPA, you have a shot. On the other hand, if the GPA is weighed, I would say the chances of getting in are very slim.

@amk123 you definitely have a good chance. Put a lot of time into your essays. I am a freshman here at the univeristy of michigan and graduated from an international school. I took all IB courses as well. I had a 28 ACT but my twin had a lower score than you and I and we were both accepted last year. Just make sure your essays are strong.

my gpa is unweighted and okay thanks for the advice
