Come on... anyone out there to help a fellow CC'er??

Your SAT averages are a bit under the average (especially for RD), but not by enough that they would get you rejected. Your stats, otherwise, look just like everyone else's. But, theose few EC's that are out of the ordinary (like spanish honor society and rocket club) are good things to capitalize on. Just make sure that your application really sheds light on you as an individual. This is where the essays come in. Essays are so important as to filling out your application. If the stats and ECs you listed above are the app's skeleton, then the essays are its flesh and blood. Make the writing come alive and sure, i'd say you have a good shot.

I think it looks good, people will probably say your SAT scores are low but I got in with a 1320, so it might not hinder you that much

I also am big into biotechnology- we have a sequencer in my school and this great program. Our class sequenced a gene and was invited to attend a national genomic sequencing conference in washington, d.c. This was the major thing that I talked a lot about. I also included the abstract for the project. Do you think that will help my app even though it was a class project?

Your stats are fine but as others have said great essays and recs will make the difference. Good luck!

Thanks!
Good luck to all other RD applicants!

I was on my HS academic team too. It's definately a plus. Being in the top 2% is definately good, but i don't think Iranian counts as a minority.
