Do I have to earn my Associates prior to enrolling in the transfer instituation?

I applied to the University of Michigan and I am accepted. On the common application, there is a question asking if I earned or be going to earn any degrees prior to enrolling in the transfer institution. I said I will earn my associates because I thought I fulfill all the requirement for the Associates degree at my current community college. I realized today that I need to take 2 more courses to earn my AA. I can take these courses during summer but I don't want to waste money and time. Even if I take the 2 courses, those credits will not transfer to U-M since I already have more than 60 transferrable credits. Also, I am an international student so taking the 2 courses will cost about $1000.

You don’t have to, but you should call or e-mail and let them know that you will not be completing your degree prior to enrolling at UMich.

Brishe is right. Call and see what they say. It seems the AA would just be an unnecessary formality.

Thanks for replies brishe, NotAClue
