I was just wondering would I have to put myself as a dependent under my parents when applying for fafsa? I'm currently 19 and living with my brother for the first time and was wondering if I could put myself being dependent under my brother. This would help me more since my brother has a lower income than my parents do.

You can't choose your "dependency" based on where you live...at least not for financial aid purposes. If that were the case, many folks would just move in with poor relatives to lower their EFCs. You have to put your parents income on the FAFSA if you have parents. Even if you don't live with them this would still be the case, unless you are an emancipated minor, an orphan, over 24, married, or have your own dependent children.
