<p>No, they (UC’s I don’t know about private although I’d assume to be the same) don’t care if you finish in fall or spring if all requirements are met. They’ll just ask you what you are doing in your gap semester on the application.</p>

<p>Don’t you have to stay full-time as an international student? Check your school’s international student office for more details. Rarely do they give intl student a semester off to do internship or other stuff.</p>
