Do I need more safeties?

<p>Hi, I'm applying to the following colleges for the Class of 2018 with an intended major in Computer Science:</p>

<p>Cornell (ED, applied)
Stanford
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
UCLA
UCB
Dartmouth
Brown
Drexel
UT Arlington
Georgia Tech</p>

<p>Here are my stats:</p>

<p>SAT I: 2320 (800M/730CR/790W)
SAT II: 800 MII, 720 Physics, 720 Chemistry
TOEFL: 114/120
GPA: ~3.8 (Top 10%)</p>

<p>Honors: </p>

<p>IRIS National Fair Gold Medalist, representing India at ISEF 2014
Google Science Fair 2013 Regional Finalist
Google Code-In 2012 Grand Prize Finalist
IZCO (USACO equivalent) perfect score</p>

<p>ECs:</p>

<p>Research: authored CS/Algorithms based research paper (also my Google Science Fair and ISEF project)
Open Source Programming: contributed to several open source projects, including The Fedora Project
Entrepreneurship: Developed novel QR (Quick Response) code UID system (received investment offer), Startup Weekend Business Plan Competition Winner in 2012 and 2011. Founded entrepreneurship club in school.

<p>I received a few other school awards for academics.
Work Experience:</p>

<p>Web Design (Paid): Worked as the front-end website developer and user interface designer for several startup companies.</p>

<p>Paid internship at a growing web startup (Summer 2012): redesigned online user interface and updated front-end layout.</p>

<p>As an international applicant looking for aid, should I add more safeties to this list? What do you think my chances are for the universities on my list?</p>

<p>UCLA: Match
Berkeley: Match
Drexel: Safety
UT Arlington: Safety
GA Tech: Match</p>

<p>Everyone else is a reach…</p>

<p>I would add Olin, Grinnell and Carleton to the list, perhaps HarveyMudd, USC, Virginia Tech, and CalPoly SLO. Cal POly POmona as a safety. Another safety would be Missouri School of Science and Technology.</p>

<p>However when you say you need financial aid, how much do you mean?
Because
UCLA
UCB
UT Arlington
Georgia Tech
will not offer any financial aid (same thing for Cal Poly but it’s less expensive)? UT AIrlington may have some for of merit scholarship.
With these scores you’d get nice financial aid offers from schools like RIT or WPI.</p>

<p>So it all comes down to how much your family can pay.</p>

<p>Note: with these scores, you qualify for the automatic tuition scholarship and stipend from College of Engineering at University of Alabama. HURRY though since the deadline is Sunday.</p>
