my telebears are 10/21 and 11/17. I was told I had to phase 1 chem 3a last semester, but it was still open during my phase 2. I know spring is a little different though because people from spring chem 3a might have waited to take 3b, as well as those who fail voldhardt this semester along with everyone in 3a now.

anyone have experience with this? I'm not taking 3bl so that's not an issue. there are some spring only major specific courses that i'd rather phase 1, but if i miss 3b this spring i'll be behind.

The general “rule” is Phase I 3BL and Phase II 3B. But this rule isn’t necessarily true anymore since you don’t need to take lab at the same time and all the other budget cut stuff. Since you’re not taking 3B and you have other classes you’d rather Phase I, I think you should be pretty safe. If you see it filling up fast though, maybe you should switch over.

"A reminder for anyone planning to take CHEM 3B
and/or CHEM 3BL in Spring 2010:

If you enroll in 3BL first, and then do not get into 3B, you will not be able to
take EITHER course. Remember that to take 3BL you must either be enrolled in 3B, or
have already completed it. Based on our past experience with these courses, many
students don’t get into either course by signing up for 3BL in Phase 1, and waiting
until Phase 2 to sign up for 3B.

Additionally, there is only ONE section of CHEM 3B.
It is CHEM 3B 001 CC#11383, TTh from 8-9:30 in Pimentel. Please disregard the
second section listed in 10 Evans. We do not have that room any longer, and this
listing should have been removed from the Schedule of Classes.

kinda unrelated, but related at the same time…
should i phase I chem 3AL and phase II chem 3A, or should i phase I both of them? My phase I was yesterday, October 19, and my phase II is November 12.

Leftist for chem3a spring semester usually how full are the lectures? 100 extra spots per lecture?

I kinda would like to know what kind of a risk phaseI chem3al and phaseII chem3a would be? Like if theres only 30 or so spots in phaseII for chem3a or a still 100 or so left.

heh, leftist you also told me to phase 1 3a but it had plenty of room during the start of my phase 2. although it is true that many people will wait to take it with pedersen, and if i don’t take it this year i’ll be behind (and also have to take it with volhardt next semester)… darn, decisions decisions. i’ll probably just phase 1 it now and monitor it and my other classes during open hours.
