Hello, I am an international student currently studying A levels (math, physics, chemistry, Psychology) and aim to get in the top US university like the ivies. My question was that if i have taken A levels and have got A in all of them then should i still take AP and will it give me an upper hand in College admission?
A-levels and APs cover similar level material.
If you enter a university with both A-level and AP scores in the same subject, you should not expect to get double credit, but it may slightly increase your chance of getting subject credit if the university accepts one but not the other in that subject.
AP scores are not used for admission. They are used (sometimes) for credit or advanced placement once you are in college. Some places will award credit or advanced placement for A levels. All of that information is right on each college/university website. I would advise that you save your money and the headache of preparing for the AP exams, and just submit your A levels.
