Do i qualify for the NMSQT by taking PSAT

1: I am going to take the PSAT. I live in the Middle East, Outside the U.S. Will i be able to qualify with the NMSQT. And what are the average percentile or marks needed to get the NMSQT?

2: I am going to be taking either SAT or PSAT. I do not know which?!?!?! I am in 8th Grade, by my school only offers PSAT in 9th Grade... Is it possible for me to register for the SAT. And if so, will it get counted when i go for my college application?!

Thanks loads!

Your PSAT score only qualifies for NMSQT when you are a junior in high school. You can register for the SAT and it may get counted by colleges (depends on which school), but why would you? Have you taken practice tests. Do you have an expected score in mind? Can that expected score be improved over the next 2-3 years? If so, don’t bother with an official test.
