Do I stand a chance SCEA?

Tutor

75+ hours of other random community service

Job: 12 hrs/week starting last July

I'm kind of too well-rounded, but I guess music will work as a hook. I've pretty much taken advantage of all my community has to offer. Doing research, etc. really isn't an option where I live.
What do you guys think? Is it worth my time applying SCEA?

Ugh, things look sort of bleak for you. I mean, apply if you like the school, but I'd say you have about a 13% chance...

lol you've said that for everybody on this board. I know that Stanford had a 13% admission rate last year.

lol I wish you would have paid attention to the implications of 13%, as well as what everybody else has said of Stanford chances threads...

"Student of the month/quarter" - keep this type of awards off your list!

Sending the tape (music) could help you A LOT if they need a trombone player. Be sure to do that. And take some SAT IIs.

Yeah, I'm signed up to take them in a couple weeks..............thanks for the student of the month/quarter advice, I'll do that.

I'll send in a tape.....but how much can that help?

OK and another question: I'm applying SCEA, and I'm going to submit the supplemental recording and info. It says the deadline is October 20th. Do I need to submit all of my other info at that time too? Or can I send in the recording and everything, and then send in essays and recs in time for the Nov. 1st deadline?

Check the deadlines carefully. In the past Nov.1 was the postmark deadline for the application, but supplemental recordings had to be received by the admissions office by Nov.1. All this info is clearly stated on the admissions website. If you are not sure, call them and ask. It is very risky to rely on this kind of forum for information on deadlines.

I agree wholeheartedly with nngmm. Call them if the directions aren't clear.
