Some cool things about my high school:

Highly competitive magnet program
Newsweek ranked it 7th in the nation in its Find the Super High Schools column
Recipient of the 2006 Magnet School of Excellence Award
3rd in the US and 5th in the world based on IB exams administered
We're on wiki, too! <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suncoast_High_School%5B/url%5D">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suncoast_High_School</a></p>

I am currently enrolled in two magnet programs at my school, the MSE (math, science, and engineering) and IB programs. There are less than 20 students out of the '07 class who are "dualies" in these two rigorous programs.

My ethnic background is Spanish/Asian, and I'm Catholic.

So, can I make it?

Your test scores and class rank are low. However, the fact that your school chooses to participate in the IB program will help. Lastly, ND loves multisport athletes. And right now you don't seem to have that, but there is still time. I'd suggest maybe Track/CC and/or something else.

Conclusion: ND is a reach for you.
Solution: Become very friendly with your state's admission counselor and show lots of interest.

Your ECs and awards look good and your courseload looks challenging enough, but you really need to improve your GPA and class rank. Notre Dame is definitely a reach, but you have a shot if you work at getting your grades up. If I were you, I'm not sure I'd add another sport: playing a sport for one year doesn't really catch the attention of admissions committees and your grades need a boost more than your ECs, so you may want to focus on that. Let us know how your SAT retakes go. Good luck!

I agree, the main thing I see is the rank so really focus on that. I definately think you have a shot though, so don't give up!
