do i stand a chance?

Lamar! I'm disapointed... I thought you might go to LBJ... oh well...
Is being from the south really an advantage? because that would be great!

Yes because I think Carleton is mostly midwest kids applying and they're all about diversity. Also perhaps not so many kids from Texas are applying, probably because of the crap they go through when people find out they want to go to Minnesota.

oh yes, I definately got the: 'wait... Carleton is where?!' ...and right after my mother and I agreeing that if it is a good school, the location doesn't matter

I think Carleton gets a decent share of Texans - there are just so many students in Texas, and UT and A&M can't take them all.

Seriously, it looks like at least 5 or 6 Texans posting here have applied. (Daughter goes to The Woodlands).

Idamayer- Nope, I go to Anderson. Where do you go?
Ficciones- Thanks! And congratulations on getting in!!

Yeah, I've told probably around 100 people here that I applied to Carleton and only two people knew where it was. Yee-haw!

I go to LBJ!

I go to St. Thomas in Houston

go us cool texas people! do y'all take either latin or german? I might meet you guys at state. lol...

Arkansas owns Texas. Yes, it's true....

I'm sorry Johnny, but I just came back to Texas from visiting Arkansas and I can objectively say that it is Texas that does the majority of the owning ;)

idamayer- nope, i take spanish. lo siento!

No..!!!

Take it back, take it back!

I went to Texas too. Man, it smelled. Seriously. There were miles and miles of cows pinned up in these little enclosures, wallowing in their feces. And it was very brown. Everywhere.

And Clinton pwns Bush. So does Wesley Clark. :-)

well...that's because you lived in podunk texas...
i propose an ammendment to acc_bound's comment
Austin pwns all of Arkansas...

Haha. Austin is the least Texas-like of all of Texas. I'm sure if it were actually Texas-like, it would totally suck.

When I think Texas, I think Amarillo. Hahahahahahahha. Yeah, sorry.

It's sort of like New Orleans and Louisiana. Collectively, Louisiana sucks (I used to live there).....but New Orleans rocks.

yes, Austin is definately a safe haven from the rest of texas...

Yeah, it's a blue oasis in a really, really, really, really...........oh, really red state.

I second the amendment! Austin is the greatest. Anyone going to SXSW this year?

Wow. Lots 'o' Texans here.

But still, proportionally, Arkansans outnumber Texans here :-).

Amarillo? Ugh. I prefer the Piney Woods/Big Thicket of east Texas, although the Hill Country is pretty great.
