Do I Still Have A Chance If I Screwed Up Freshman Year?

So freshman year of high school was not as great as I hoped it'd be. I got really involved in extracurriculars, but my grades weren't Harvard-worthy:

English (honors)- A
History - A-
Geometry - B+
Spanish - A
Biology (honors) - B+

Does anyone get admitted if they get grades like this freshman year but then improve drastically starting sophomore year? Just wondering.

How have you done since? Generally, if you are in the top 5% of your class, your grades are fine regardless of your freshman year grades. If you are in the top 10%, you are probably OK.

So far, I’m doing really well. Taking the more AP classes than anyone in my grade and getting straight As (so far…fingers crossed!)

A positive trend in your GPA will most likely negate earlier mistakes

What if freshman year grades are full of Cs and Bs?
And later in the next two years one has straight high As, ranks 1/200?

And to answer your question, I have seen people with a few Bs in their freshman year get in Harvard. So, yes, you have a chance.
