Hi so I’m a freshman in high school, and I got my final grades for this year.
First semester:
Foreign Language Spanish:98
Foreign Language Hebrew:99
STEM:96
Biology:90
Algebra:92
Global History:94
English:85
Second Semester:
Foreign Language Spanish:100
Foreign Language Hebrew:92
STEM:97
Biology:96
Algebra:97
Global History:96
English:96
I know I did much better in the second semester, but I had an 85 in English first semester, a 90 in math and a 82 in bio, which kills me. Does this totally ruin my chances at ivy leagues or Harvard?
If Admissions only considered your freshman year grades then yes your GPA would sink your application. However, you have two more years to redeem yourself, get a tudor, crack those books and ace the rest of your tests!
lol these numbers mean virtually nothing. Also, you’re a freshman in high school.
Just make sure you do some huge extracurricular and/or score a perfect or near-perfect SAT. You’ve got time. That’s practically the BASELINE for HYPSM. It won’t even guarantee you admissions. I love how you’re aiming so high so early. You just have to be really motivated. I’m sure if you put forth a lot of effort, you’ll get into a great college even if it’s not Harvard (which, statistically speaking, it probably won’t be).
I am starting to study SAT after summer and I am known in my school to be in many clubs, leaders of all, and passionate about all. I will most probably be president, but I am worried that this years grades are pulling me down by s longshor. Will this years grades cause a rejection from Harvard ?
