As of now my GPA is a 3.23 which by the end of my junior year should go up to a 3.4-3.5ish. For the college's I wish to go to this is not the best. However, my low GPA is due mainly to my low grades in English during my sophomore year( I got a D which gave me a 2.0) as well as to my lack of effort during sophomore year. However, during my senior year I plan on taking all advanced classes (with the exception of math). Two of these classes are easy AP classes that I can get an A in and the rest should be decent B's and maybe one C. Since these are AP classes and are graded on a 6.0 scale my GPA should go up (which I calculated to be around a 3.7-4.0ish by the end of my fall semester of senior year). However, I am told that admission to college begins during the fall semester which (due to my not-so-good GPA) I am not too happy about. My question is, will colleges decide to accept me via my GPA after junior year or can I still get judged after my first semester of senior year?

If the D dropped you to a 2.0 you must have had around a 2.25 without it.
Uh, yes.
Sounds like you are talking about a weighted GPA. What is your UW GPA? That is the GPA that is listed in the Common Data Set.
If you are on the border they might accept you contingent on your first semester grades. That really depends on the school. Some don’t do that at all.

1.I meant the class gave me a 2.0 GPA not my GPA dropping to a 2.0.
2.I think I could have done better in math and maybe science.
3.I don’t know my UW GPA. The site my school uses (family connection) only shows my WGPA.
