Hello everyone,

Does anyone know whether or not my high school IB marks will matter for getting into medical school even if I don't plan on using them to get undergrad university credits? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well it depends, IB math, biology, english and chemistry will get you through the basic introductory requirements, but med school prefer to see that students have taken atleast two semesters of organic chemistry and English. Also you will need really high IB scores!!!

thanks but I don’t plan on using my IB scores to get through the basic introductory courses at university. What exactly do I need high IB scores for if I’m just going to take all the introductory courses in my freshman year? I didn’t think med school admission officers even looked at high school/IB scores.

if you don’t plan on trying to skip courses or get credit than your IB scores mean nothing to med school and they won’t even see them unless they appear on your college transcript for some reason.
