do internatonal schools let US students in easier than natives?

My friend is strongly encouraging me to apply to a really selective school in Canada. She has told me, over and over, that US students have an easier time getting in because Canada is eager to accept US internationals. The average SAT and grades are slightly higher than my own, and I'm wondering if I have a chance.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

anyone? please respond!

no, it's not easier for US students. In canada though, i think it just gives you equal chances. Are you talking about McGill btw? I can't speak about all canadian schools, but for McGill at least, they are 100% stats based. If you are in their 50% range, and have a solid GPA. You are in... no questions asked. There are no essays or ec's... you can't even tell them about those on the forms!

basically all universities in Canada are stats based.... if you're above their set grades (like say 89% average or something) then you're usually in. No, I don't think US students get in easier.
