Because of where they went to school or live?

Here they do. There's a county (johnson county) known for its wealth. They claim to have the best schools in the nation. their school lunches are uber expensive ($5 average for just a burger)

I'm not in high school, I'm in college. Maybe you should make sure you understand the title of the forum before you post your trash talk---no offense.

some do.. but those are the kids who are just pompous and stuck up. you can get many people from those same places/schools that seem compeltely "normal" or are modest and shy away from actually talking about their wealth or schools.

lots for rich kids at my school.. pretty surprising when i went there even when i came from an uppermiddle class/upper class town with a "ranked" public high school. there were pompus kids in our town and there we were ones who arent. those kinds of peopel are everywhere and youll see them all your life and theyll just always find a way to prove theyre better than you.. ignore them or even ***ch them out if it bothers you that much

absurd... one of the high schools from my home town is ranked twice in the same year with two TOTALLY different values! lol...and, really, the relative rankings of schools in my home town don't fit what I know of the schools. Using % of students who took AP or IB tests is flawed because it does not take into account other programs (e.g., simply taking the actual courses while in HS, practical and internship involvement, etc.).
And then there's the fact that affluence is a huge confound here -- just plain bad research methodology! (Didn't that author to college himself...or at least a good high school?! lol...)

Yeah, we still really, really don't care. And perhaps their schools are better because they taught them the proper usage of their, there and they're.

The kids at my college ARE better than everyone else, including me!

Heh, just kidding. I doubt this is an overall school sentiment at any college. The closest I can think of is how some students at Cornell feel insulted by the "easiest ivy" status.

woo hoo my HS broke 500 again! we were around 250 a couple of years back and then had crazy controversy and drama in our district and administration. nice to see that its back on the right track =)
