Do medical schools care what type of research I do?

I'm looking into a variety of labs, and as I make my final decision, I'd like to know if medical schools look more favorably upon certain types of research. Here's an example: I can take a position in a psychology lab in which I would be working mostly with people as they undergo testing and then analyzing the results (the lab looks at the interaction between the senses of smell and taste). Alternatively, I could take a position in a biochemistry lab in which I would be doing more "traditional" lab work (test tubes, chemicals, etc....this lab is investigating specific chromosomal abnormalities in a certain population).
FYI, I think I'd be perfectly happy in either lab, and they both are fascinating to me. So my question is this: Do med schools prefer more traditional research (bio, chem, etc.), or would psychology research be just as good?
Thanks!
