Do Mount Holyoke and Smith superscore if you do opt to send in test scores?

<p>I know that Mount Holyoke and Smith are test optional, but I can't find much detail on their sites about how they evaluate scores if you do send them in.</p>

<p>By application time, my D will likely have taken the SAT and the ACT (with writing) each twice. Right now I think her ACT looks slightly better than her SAT, but they are very similar, and in range for both schools. </p>

<p>Will those schools superscore the SAT and/or the ACT? Will they look at each section of the ACT or just the composite score? </p>

<p>As long as the score are solidly in the range that the schools report, wouldn't it seem wise to report them?</p>

<p>I tried to look into this and not much is posted. I found something that was several years old that said both superscored but then I found something only a couple years old that said that only Smith superscored. Both records were not put out by either institution or any other kind of authority.</p>

<p>I would just send an email to the admissions office of both schools and ask them directly. Probably the easiest and most accurate way of getting this info.</p>

<p>My daughter applied to both and only had SAT scores. I’m pretty sure both superscored. I believe this information is available from the CollegeBoard site when you order the scores… if you log into your d’s account there and look at the scores, you may find a way to check, or, you could go through the motions as if you were ordering scores sent (but cancel before sending) and it will tell you how each school deals with the scores.</p>

section scores will be considered as part of the final admissions
decision. Each time you submit scores, <university x=“”> will update your
record with any new high scores. </university></p>

<p>So that looks to me like they both “Superscore” the SAT, at least, but Mount Holyoke also looks at the other scores while Smith completely ignores them…???</p>
