Do my extracurriculars balance out my GPA/SAT?

-Proficient in 2 programming languages, JAVA and C++

-Key Club 4 years
-150 service hours
-Swimming 1 years
-2 years JV badminton, 1 year varsity</p>

<p>[ *] Essays: All of them are very strong, emphasized my extracurriculars and the fact I used to live in Michigan
[ *] Teacher Recs: Computer science teacher, worked with her for 3 years, very strong.
[ *] Counselor Rec: Didn't see it, pretty sure it'd be good
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.): N/A
[ *] State or Country: Maryland, US
[ *] School Type: Top ranked public school
[ *] Ethnicity: Asian

[ *] major strength/weakness:
-Strengths: Pretty loaded with extracurriculars, especially engineering/programming ones.
-Weaknesses: GPA/SAT

<p>Really great that your ECs are concentrated in computer/robotics stuff but tbh I don’t think they would balance out your grades which are really low for Michigan. I’d say Michigan is a reach with your stats unless your essays are extremely awesome. I could see you getting in if you weren’t Asian…
and in the end University of Maryland at College Park is an awesome school with really cheap in state tuition :)</p>

<p>True. UMich I’ve considered a reach for me, and I applied to UMCP and I would be perfectly fine going there. Thanks for your response.</p>
