Do my junior/senior years redeem my frosh/soph years?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, typical cliche right here. Did subpar first two years of high school, blah blah blah. In all actuality, my only downfall was the lack of rigor in my curriculum. I did not take any honors courses until my junior year to which I took world history and bio honors. During the summer, I took pre-calc honors and senior year, I was enrolled in a schedule that completely contradicted my previous course selections. Those courses were AP Bio, AP Calc A/B, APUSH, Chinese IV Honors and English IV Honors. My overall GPA so far is 3.6 unweighted.

My question is, will colleges look at this in a positive or negative light? If you were an admissions counselor, what would these course selections seem to reflect to you? Bottom line, I would like to know where some of you think I stand in the eyes of a typical admissions officer (doesn't matter where). Thanks guys. I appreciate any insight.

A very positive upward trend is attractive. A student can have a rough freshman year, particularly because there are so many adjustments to be made in life.

I believe junior year is looked at most closely.

If you have a great first semester senior year, I would make an effort to send in those grades. The mid year report may be too late.
