Can senior year grades make up for slight junior messup?

Okay, I'm possibly applying to some top schools, but I kind of slacked a little this semester, and I'm just assuming a possibility of these grades:
AP Bio B or B+ (possibility for an A, who knows.)
Chem II A-
Physics II A
Calculus A
English A
World History A
Spanish III A

My past grades are 4.0 freshman and sophomore, and one A- in Chemistry II as a junior.

However, as a senior, if I were to 4.0 my whole first semester. Could that make up for a B/B+ in AP bio, etc.
Senior Fall Dual enrollment courses:
Calculus II
General Chemistry I
Calculus-based Physics I
Psychology
English IV
Art
..Maybe AP Comp Science online ?

Essentially, would a 4.0 in these harder classes make up for it somewhat and increase my chances?

By the way, my school does not offer AP courses.

Ok. First of all, you don’t need to get a 4.0 GPA to get into Ivies and other colleges. The way that I see it is that you don’t really need to worry about it, since it’s not that bad. I don’t know about others, but my opinion is that colleges like to see people who struggled and overcame tough courses, but that’s just my thought. Anyway, good luck.

Your school does not offer AP courses but you are taking AP Bio?

@billcsho You can self-study for AP tests!

@StanfordScience An upward trend is always a good, but it can also be evaluated as not caring enough early. If it was freshman or sophomore year, it’d be fine. But junior year is the key year, and only a fraction of senior year is counted in the admissions process. Therefore, I don’t think it will be that big of a difference, but like Hawkace said," … you don’t need to get a 4.0 GPA…"

Self study AP with a grade that would affect GPA?

@billcsho It doesn’t change the GPA unless your school is willing to adjust. GPA is maintained by the individuals school, so it’d be up to them.

I just re-read this. I am now with @billcsho‌
How are you going to get a B/B+ in AP bio if you don’t have that class at your school O.o

LOL. You finally get it.

@billcsho I’m taking AP biology online

@billcsho @currymaster420 It’s online. So it’s basically self study and just a bunch of reading. No lectures or anything. Just take exams once in a while and complete course work…
