Do not read unless you are 21 or older...

<p>Has anyone here ever applied to (or is currently in) the Eli Whitney program? I have also looked at the following programs offered by the other Ivies:</p>

<p>Brown - Resumed Undergraduate Education
Harvard - Harvard Extension School
Cornell - School of Continuing Education
Penn - College of General Studies
Columbia - School of General Studies</p>

<p>Yale sounds like the best program for me since it allows me to major in Poli Sci and obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree, take courses during the day with all of the "regular" undergrads and offers a discount in tuition.
Please respond if you have as I have boatloads of other questions.
Thanks very much,
Terry</p>

<p>obviously no one publicly answered this thread, but did anyone send you a private message with any info?</p>

<p>Yes, I did talk to one current student at Yale and they provided some very valuable info. I was surprised to hear how selective the program is - 12 people out of 50 applicants were accepted. I believe this is considerably lower than any of the adult reentry programs at the other schools listed above.
It was also good to hear how easily Eli Whitney students integrate with the "regular" stuidents and the campus activities.
I've read all of the info on Yale website regarding the EW program, but it was good to actually talk to a real student that has gone thru the process. I'm always interested in hearing from others too.
The deadline for applying is May 1, so I still have some time to craft my personal statement.</p>

<p>haha I love the fact that this post has so many views given the title. Further proof that all teenagers have one thing on their minds...lol</p>

<p>I specifically named the title of this thread "...21 or older..." because the Adult Reentry programs are only available to those applicants 21 or older. Therefore, this thread would not be of interest to most teenagers.
In retrospect, to attract a lot of view perhaps I should've named it "Where to get good beer at Yale" or "How to score with Yalie chicks!!".
Then again, I've never done either of those..... :(</p>

<p>Desert, I applied too. Let me know if you hear anything and I'll do the same. Thanks.</p>
