<p>I know plenty of students that were fairly conservative in high school and became more liberal in college. Being exposed to all sorts of backgrounds, cultures and opinions sometimes does that.</p>
<p>Left, right or center, it doesn't make a difference to me when I'm reading applications.</p>
<p>no; my friend interned for a very strong democratic politician (she was an ardent democratic too) & harvard didn't care and she got in.</p>
<p>i actually think it helps. It shows that you care about the world outside of your own sphere.</p>
<p>Party affiliation shouldn't matter. I knew a national champion in speech (extemporaneous speaking), and he was an extreme republican, and he got into stanford. On the other hand, winning nationals in speech didn't hurt him at all.</p>
