I'm currently a Biochem major/math minor from a very selective, though not-ivy calibur, liberal arts school in New York. My GPA is only a 3.3, due in large part to the fact that I went through a whole year of weeder classes where the class average was often a C or below and only had one class where there was a curve. I'm thinking about switching to a Math/Econ major and then transferring to an elite school so I have a shot at Investment Banking.

I don't know if I should switch majors at my current school or at my next school. If I switched to math/econ now, I could get above a 3.5. If I stay in biochem...well I have to go through Orgo Chem next year which half the kids here fail (it's the make or break course for science kids).

So: Would I be more attractive to a top school (NYU, Michigan, Virginia) as a Biochem major/math minor with a 3.3 or a math/econ major with a 3.6 or 3.7?

My high school gpa was a 3.6, 1440 SATs, 30 ACT
