Do schools other than UofM charge more for upper classmen?

First of all, I think it's BS that once you reach 60 credits you have to pay a few thousand dollars more per year. I was wondering if any other schools do this? Why does UofM do this? It's almost like hidden fees.

i think when you get 55+ credits, you get charged for upper level tuition, but yeah it kinda suck cuz i’ll be paying like 2k extra starting this fall.

im not complaining though, my friend at UCSD is paying 21k for tuition, whereas mine is somewhere around 20k

yea but what’s their purpose of doing this? they seem to be decieving incoming students who might not be aware of this tuition increase. why don’t they just distribute this bump to all 4 years???

i dont know, but my FA went up a bit though, not sure if its added to offset the OOS tuition increase or the upper lvl tuition rate, so I’m paying slightly more that’s all

I switched from lower division tuition to upper division tuition mid-year because of transfer credits coming through slowly, and my FA was adjusted to cover the difference.

Yeah same here. 1 year here and now I’ll be paying upper level tuition.

I don’t like the fact that it starts at 55, which for a large portion is where people will be at starting their sophomore year, and even some are at in winter their freshman year. Calling it upper level is misleading, most start paying this very early on.

yea uofm has really been disappointing me lately. 50% acceptance rate, and now i gota pay thousands more every year. ****.

There’s no reason a 50% acceptance rate, or any acceptance rate (unless it’s too low), should disappoint you.
