do you think smart people can do bad on the sat?
Someone can still be smart and happen to do poorly on any kind of test. You can always perform worse than your aptitude, due to any number of reasons- not feeling well, not having enough time compared to whatever your natural processing speed is (which has nothing to do with how smart you are or not), having some sort of learning disability that may or may not be diagnosed which you may or may not be aware you have (you can be very smart or even highly gifted intelligence wise but at the same time have a learning disability), etc. etc. Please don’t take it as a measure of your intelligence if you don’t do well on the SAT or some other kind of test!
Yes, smart people can do badly on standardized tests. For instance, sometimes smart people have received such deficient educations that they are not aware of basic grammar rules.
Yes. The SAT also does not account for hard workers. I know many students who work hard, use their resources and are very bright but do not do well on standardized tests. Colleges have realized this too and this is why high GPA without high SAT scores have high admit chances. (obviously I’m not talking about highly selective schools who have their choice of the very top students)
The SAT doesn’t measure intelligence.
So, sure, smart people can struggle, and not so smart kids can do fairly well.
Yes, you can be smart but be a bad test taker.
I feel like you can’t have it all, not because your smart doesn’t mean that you have all the knowledge that you need.
