I'll be applying to UConn, UDel, Penn state, SUNY UB, and Rutgers next fall and I want to get into the chemical engineering programs at one of these schools. Right now Ive been talking with my science/math teachers about getting recommendation letters but I heard that sometimes they want other recommendation letters from humanities teachers too. Can someone tell me the info about recommendation letters for the schools i listed?

Rutgers doesn’t use them for admissions purposes.

[Rutgers | Rutgers Admissions](http://admissions.rutgers.edu/applynow/MoreForFirstYearApplicants/RequiredCredentials.aspx)

Why don’t you go look these things on their websites.

Son applied (as engineering major) to UDel and UB and 13 other schools. Accepted to all.

Recommendations were from Physics and Computer Sci teachers. Sure it helped for this major. I don’t think it will be a problem for you not to have a letter of rec form a humanities teacher.

By the way, the schools you are looking at are similarly ranked for engineering. Son is extremely happy at UB. They are great for the sciences. Kids are UB are very happy and the price is right!!!

Good luck
