Do they recieve Senior First Semester Grades?

Hi everyone, so i just found out that my senior first semester grades are about to be extremely bad. As in i might get a D for the semester...yes, a D. Not cause of senior-itis or laziness, its just I've just been taking the hardest classes possible right now.

I was just wondering if Maryland looks at your Senior First Semester grades? or is it first quarter? I wouldn't mind first quarter since I did a little better.

And a little bit about me: I'm in the IB program, I ended junior year with a 3.98 gpa. SAt=1790 (average for MD, i know). For senior year, i'm taking all IB classes except for Honors Spanish IV and Theory of Knowledge. I'm extremely scared of my chances for getting into Maryland already, and now i'm just SOOO scared with this semester grade.

I think they do. I’m kind of in the same situation (except my grades are due to slacking off). But yeah I thinks thats why there notification date is Jan 30th-31st so they can look at students first semester grades. I’m not sure about you individually but my school automatically sends both 1st and 2nd quarter grades so its kinda tough for me :\ but Good Luck!

Your school would have to send them. Ask your counselor. My feeling is that they probably do not see them.

i personally requested my school to sent my first marking periods grade last year when i was accepted because they were good. However i did not send them by first semester grades because they were not avaliable until after the decisions came out.
