Do transfer courses that are taken during the summer count for CSU credit?

I am planning on transferring to San Francisco state after I complete the 60 transferable units in the summer. So once summer has ended, i will apply as a transfer to the CSU in August so that I can start attending classes in spring of the next year. But there's a rule in the SFSU website that worries me a little.

In the requirement list on the website, it also states that..

"Summer or intersession work completed during the term immediately prior to enrollment is not used to determine eligibility"

I am assuming this means that if I take a course(that counts as transfer) during the summer, that course will not be used AT ALL in the admission process? or is there another meaning of this rule?

That rule mainly applies if you are transferring for a Fall term. Your summer grade will apply because your summer grade should be final by the time you apply. Summer school ends like… Last week of July/ first week of August, right? You’ll have your final grades by the time you apply, assuming the application period is open from August 1st to 31st.

they don’t want summer grades for fall because you could basically fail right before the fall semester starts and whoopty do, there goes a waste of an admission… Hope this helps!
