Do UCs pay attention to extracurriculars?

<p>I am in my 2nd year at a CC and I haven't participated in many extracurricular activities, unfortunately. I found out that I had to stay another year at CC in order to complete some prereqs for my major. Should I look into any extracurricular activities? If so, what suggestions do you guys have? I am majoring in biological sciences.</p>

<p>Try to do research with your biology professors. That and internships or job in the biological sciences field would be helpful when you write your personal statement prompt 1. Aside from that, anything where you can demonstrate leadership abilities would be helpful for Berkeley.</p>
