Will the UCs have the chance to use our Fall semester grades in evaluating their decisions? If so, how will they do this, because the application deadline is November 30, and most California community colleges don't end their first semester until mid-December (and then only do grades come out).

Also, how do UCs look upon one who had a below average academic first year but then turned things around and will probably receive all A's this fall semester? Will it even matter considering so many applicants already have near-perfect CC GPA's for both years?

of course they see it. u update in january

So you’re saying that they make [most] admissions decisions after January only?

they make decisions by april or may. they only start looking at apps in january after u update ur fall grades.

How do you know this? (Not that I don’t believe you, but I looked for sources to support it and couldn’t find any.)

While I also don’t have sources, I positive he is correct, and remember reading it on some UC website (though again, I forget the specifics)

Yeah, a rep from UCI told me that they look at your fall semester grades when you update them in January. I dunno if they look at the apps before that or not.

Thanks for the corroborations guys, I just wish there was a website out that discussed this matter. Guess there isn’t.
