Do universities monitor web access, like porn?

woah! I am a guy!
and one can maturbate without porn you know. porn just makes it a little more enjoyable.

now change the damn subject! this is gross!

Wait what kind of "porn" are you looking at? I think they might monitor to see if you are looking at kiddie porn.

HAHAHAHA random threads ahahaha.

Yeah i don't think they'll care (or keep silent even if they know... because.. imean that's just their own business) unless you are looking at some weird stuff.. like kiddie porn (like above said) or some serious S&M or something.

haha are you sure you're a guy?

OMG that link is hilarious!!

You can't even bring a Tv, or listen to rock music, oh and you must learn "cell phone etiquette".

Students have to "check out" before leaving campus...

I don't know what this is, but I'm pretty sure that this is not college, more like prison.

Yeah, it's pretty funny... until you realize that REAL people choose, at age 18, to go to a school which will censor their email, tell them what music they may and may not listen to, give them a curfew, and not allow them to date.

hey pongo

if you type

[ quote ] the text (i.e. the post you thought was so funny)
[/quote ]

without the spaces, you get that little dark box.

And I thought Bob Jones University was a sarcastic comment that ridicules the absurdity of banning pornographic material. Silly me!

Haha... nope, some people actually volunteer to have their porn banned.

they better not or else im transferring

i've looked at porn at my college before, it's not censored and i never got in trouble for it. i'd be worried about stuff like child porn that's illegal, but as long as you aren't looking at that kinda stuff you should be fine.

BJU... uh that's really sad.

Honestly...you're fine. The only thing most schools monitor is bandwith usage. So, as long as you don't make a habit of dowlading 5 a day, you should be fine.

Hey I'm sure the dean looks at porn and his coworkers are used to it. No, you won't get busted, and if you did, you should sue.

So what I've learned here is that Bob Jones University rivals my hometown for the title of "Hell."

short answer no, colleges will probably not monitor what you watch, and even if they did, as long as it wasn't kiddie porn or something you're fine.

I have been in dorm rooms of students while they were watching porn. it's not a big deal...i'm actually a little surprised at some of the reactions on here, in fact I've never heard a compelling anti-porn argument before.

I don't get how anyone can watch porn with other people. It's a little creepy and weird.

I think porn is degrading to women in particular, but I am a firm (and proud) believer in freedom of choice and there is no victim so there is no crime.

Watch gay porn then.

Right, well I should have worded that a little differently, porn is degrading to sexuality or something. But please, I really could care less about debating this. If someone wants to watch porn, let them.
