<p>Do people from Virginia and Maryland pay in-state tuition for DC schools. I know DC gets In-state for both Virginia and Maryland so shouldn't it work the other way, too?</p>

<p>I don't think DC has a state school so DC kids get in-state tuition in all states.</p>

<p>There is technically a University of the District of Columbia but it isn't anything really--not much more than a community college, really.</p>

<p>The answer to your question is NO. The reason why students in DC get in-state tuition in other states is because there is only one public university there, UDC, which just plain can't offer all of them what they need.</p>
<p>VA and MD do participate in an agreement that allows students to get in-state tuition for programs that are not offered by any public university in their home states. Check out the SREB Academic Common Market at:
