This is an old post but I wouldn’t if I got a 32, that isn’t that uncommon or extremely impressive. It’s decent but most people wouldn’t care.
I only bring up my scores when somebody else is bragging to an unreasonable extent. I know someone in private school (who’s really obnoxious about it) who was bragging about their 2000 SAT score and how their private school did such a great job of preparing them (and is so much better than publics, ugh). I guess my 2320 is a sign of how awful public education is.
@hungryteenager If I were you, I would be bragging my @ss off just to tick people off. 50 Likes on your comment. For me, peer jealousy is uncontrollable. I can’t even explain it in words, and it’s only going to get worse when people start taking SAT/ACT and our class ranks are given to us.
I lied twice about grades on my report card. In one situation, I forgot to turn in a homework assignment at the end of class (despite having it done), because I was rushing to get to my next period. The teacher never sent out grade reports so I never realized I forgot to turn it in. I told everyone I had an A despite having lower. In the other situation, I was literally .02% away from an A and my teacher wouldn’t bump me, so I just told everyone I got an A. I think this lying was more for me than for my image. I didn’t want to admit to my grade because I was so upset with how easily it could have been the grade I wanted had I not made 1 silly mistake.
I’ve never lied about standardized tests, though I lie about class test scores a lot, mostly because I want to avoid annoying comments like “oh my gosh! I did better than x!” Good for you, you don’t have to compare yourself to me right in front of my face. Again, I think the lying is more for me than my image. I would happily admit to a C on a test if I knew nobody would make any unsolicited judgements, but you know, people always will.
Also like hunger, I pull out my stats when I feel the need to state my dominance over someone who thinks they’re far superior than everyone. This is only in rare cases though.
