I don’t have a high enough SAT score to whip it out and even though it is higher than what most people get at my school, it is not up to CC standards. My verified IQ score on the other hand…

Really? That’s immature. SATs mean nothing once you get into college anyway; just because you have a good score doesn’t mean you’ll be successful in life. And it certainly doesn’t mean you’re better than other people. Your actions speak volumes.

Your ego is annoying. Not sure if trolling or superiority complex.

^Seconded.

Although I think it’s the latter.

the amount of tryhards in this world is too damn high

I usually try to avoid it honestly. Whenever I tell anyone I got a 2250, they’re like “HOW?!!?!?!” and I have to say something along the lines of “I got a lot of right answers, I guess”. I don’t know what they expect me to respond with. On the other hand though, my mother tells everyone she comes across. She actually told me to brag about it more often. >_>
Oh, and after I told someone this one time, (because they asked me; as I said, I try to avoid the topic) they asked me if I was going to “Hartford”. These are the people I’m going up against in my school.

when i was young (16) one of my friends admonished me for not being able to do homework well and do good in school, and he wasn’t understanding. So I resented that. Then when i was a bit older (17) i got a nice score on the SAT but he didn’t get as nice a score. That’s the only time i can remember that I had the urge to whip out my SAT score.

The fact that you initially thought you were better than them because of those three reasons gives them all the reason to act that way.

I’m not saying that it’s okay for them “disrespect you”, but being athletic or more intelligent doesn’t give you the superiority that you think it does. It wouldn’t be okay no matter who it was.

OP- scary to think of the kind of grown-up you will be someday . Future road rage ,lack of sensitivity ,whipping out things to prove a point . Real grown-ups don’t need to prove things -they know inside they have what it takes . Hopefully you will learn these things before you get to college .

nicely said :)

Yes, superior athleticism or intelligence does give one superiority. There are winners and losers in life, believe it or not. My point is that I am significantly more likely to be a winner than these kids, so the fact that they think that they can be rude, mean, and disrespectful to me in perpetuity is ridiculous. I never go out of my way to insult other people, whether they be smarter than I, dumber than I, more athletic than I, more attractive than I, etc.

It’s not the winner’s responsibility to be modest and meek at all times in the face of disrespect. Especially when the winner wasn’t giving out disrespect to begin with.

I don’t think you get the point. Being a “winner” doesn’t it make it more disrespectful. An act of disrespect is of the same magnitude no matter who the target is. It makes sense if you believe you are better than them because they are rude and disrespectful. But it is absolutely ridiculous to believe you’re a better person because of intelligence and athletic ability.

Also, someone so sure of their “winning” status wouldn’t spend their time whining about it on CC. My advice, if you truly think you’re a “winner”, ignore it. It’s that simple. If you believe you are going places, there’s no need to dwell on minor events.

“Oh yeah baby, look at my 1900.”

No, I don’t. I’ll totally brag about Critical Reading (700) and Writing (650) though.

But, since we’re on the subject, which is more impressive: 1900 SAT or 29 ACT. Or are they pretty much the same (as in: awful by CC standards)

If you didn’t build a nuclear reactor while founding 8 clubs while simultaneously taking your SAT on which you scored a 2500, I’m really not sure that you belong here.

^^^…Not nice, Rusty. Not nice…

“Oh, and after I told someone this one time, (because they asked me; as I said, I try to avoid the topic) they asked me if I was going to “Hartford”. These are the people I’m going up against in my school.”

Harvard? Stanford? Hartford, CT? Maybe they think you’re a Gilmore Girl…so Yale?

Hahaha, sorry, this was just really amusing.

Rusty: do you mean people who are dumber and less athletic are inferior?

I was kind of on your side at first, but your posts just keep getting more and more narcissistic. No offense dude but if you acted like this to those basketball players who made fun of you, I can’t say I really blame them.

It wasn’t right for them to be mean to you, but two wrongs never make a right.

Nah to whipping out your SAT score - lol, I didn’t think whipping out “big object” could be associated with an SAT score but this is CC after all.

I haven’t told anyone in my school of my 2300+ SAT score (besides my principal because he’s a actually cool guy and was happy for me). Why? Because there’s no point flaunting test scores - the most likely result is that people think you are stuck-up and arrogant.

There’s probably better ways of getting those kids to tone down but at least you didn’t use violence.

I get your winners/losers rant but why not cross them over, break their ankles, and then step over them over you hit the open jumper? Sorry, been watching a few Allen Iverson videos. Don’t understand the need to bring looks and personality into the realm of sports is all I’m saying.

Just to clear things up, I’ve been half-heartedly trolling in this thread. I’m not that arrogant to believe that I’m intrinsically better than others because of my SAT scores, lol. However, it is true that I bragged about my SAT scores in front of these [redacted]ers. Getting undeserved disrespect is one of the most irritating things on the planet.
