I feel old and I am only 19. But then again I have problems… soo…

Yes I feel old. I too spent 4 years in the military, and then another year debating what I actually want to do in college. Finally this fall I will be buckling down. I am 23 and I only have 18 college credits.

But then I think about my mom who is pushing 40 and going back for her nursing degree. I don’t feel so old then. I go to community college right now, and there are tons of people in their 20’s…im more worried about when I transfer…I will be 25…yikes…

Im 23 and wont be transfered till 24. But I dont feel old because I look like im 17 so I should fit right in visually.

Wow. I never knew there were these many people who are in the same boat. I am 21 now and sitting in a class with 17 and 18 year olds. As someone told here, you find kids who are just experiencing life for the first time and that’s really unsettling in a way. You see people making mistakes and for most of the times I feel like their mother. LOL

well in CC its all ages. i see 50 year olds. Im sure at UC its very diff.

I am going to be 29 next week and I am heading into my 2nd year as a full time student.

Most of my classes are full of 18 year olds. I will transfer 2 weeks after my 31st birthday.

And you know what? No care ever. I had that “Man I feel so old” crap when i was 22, 23, and then I got over it. It is all in your mind.

I am going to be 29 and I feel younger than when I was 24. Average age for a college student is 26/27. Average grad school students are 30ish in most cases.

It is all in your head. If anything you have the “life experience” advantage as an older student, which helps A LOT.

My age = no care ever

I did the military thing, got out, did two years at CC and transferred to UCLA. I’ll be 25 this month. But, i’ll only feel old once I stop getting carded.

“I now realize why sometimes you see grandparents giggling like teenagers. They get it - you don’t age, your body does. The way you feel dictates everything.”

George Harrison

Amen. In the meantime, this fall there’s to be a new evening comedy called, I think, “Community”. It’s about a guy in his late 20s or early 30s returning to a CC.
