yes. missing a lesson is like missing a year

Yes, always. Though of course I wouldn’t if I was seriously ill, but missing a whole day is so hard now. Sometimes I’ll go home at lunch since my afternoon classes are useless.

I’m at home right now because I have a Physics test today that I wasn’t prepared for. Soo yeah, did the 'ol ‘not feeling well’ excuse and luckily my parents believed me. This is the first time I’ve gotten ‘sick’ for about two years, though, haha.

I vomited a couple of times one morning and my parents helped me out of bed, told me to get dressed, and handed me a can of Ginger ale during the drive to school. True story.

I wish I could go home at noon, maybe when I get a car or something.

^^ What the… What are your grades like, if not awful?

i was forced to go to school and take the ap physics the day i got strep throat

Yes, I’m that person who comes into school sneezing/coughing/nose-blowing/probably getting you sick. I do it because I hate making up work. I haven’t gotten anyone sick though, so I think it’s all right unless I have a 103.5º fever.

my mom forces me to go to school no matter what; she was freaking out to me because ive missed so much school this year (1 day). at my school if you miss 4 days of class per quarter you lose all credit.

Well… it’s not just about YOU…

You have a responsibility to quarantine yourself at home if you have a possibly contagious illness.

yeah, im not a fan of this policy. half the grade get sick at once because no one can stay home.

The question you should be asking is do you go to school when you’re not sick. I play the system a lot. :]

The trick is to miss days that you feel won’t be important. our Valedictorian is famous for this haha.

I’m home today with that (sore throat, etc, not swine flu, heh) and I think it’s just allergies, but I’m sick of walking school all day feeling like I have a sty in my eyes and a burning throat and a nose so stuffy that when I read aloud in English class my friends tell me how funny I sound. I also have coughing fits, stupid effing pollen.

Also, I’m a senior and this is my last “real” week of classes.

So yes, I stay home.

I usually stay home the first day of my cold because I get severely congested to the point of which noise starts to sting my ears. Going to school and being constantly congested and in pain is not worth it to me. If I just have a runny nose and a sore throat then I’d ride it out.

Anything more then a cold and I’ll call in. I have OCD about getting sicker.

I really don’t get sick very often. When it’s a cold, I’ll go to school. I get really bad allergies, and a cold’s not any worse than that. If I missed school for allergies, I’d be out two months (though they haven’t kicked in this year yet - knock on wood.)

I guess only reason to miss school is a fever, vomiting, or a serious migraine, and as I said before, those don’t bother me much. Lucky me.
Parents also don’t fall for playing sick, and I wouldn’t want to miss given how much I miss in a day. I am planning on finding a way to skip the 13th though. I think I’m technically allowed to miss the morning, so I think for the one afternoon class I’ll invite my teacher and classmate to IHOP or something. The perks of a class of two!

Wow, I just missed school today and I’m SO not sick.

I would go to school if I felt up to it. I’ve even gone to school when I haven’t felt like it. It’s nice because then when you REALLY need a day off, you can take it.

EPIC. 10char

Double post.

My parents will only let me stay home if I’m practically dying.
