Do you -HAVE- to send SAT scores?

Everyone keeps saying ‘the colleges will get the scores anyways’. And I know that they accept the January 22 administration of the tests - if they accept it that late, do you have to send them through Collegeboard’s service if you already know the scores for a Jan 1 deadline?

Why not just write them down on the forms, if you know them, and forget about sending it? It sounds like they have some way to check and sending isn’t mandatory.

But I don’t know.
If I’m wrong, I guess I need to rush them now?

What if somebody lies about his/her scores? they need to see if you are lying or not.

SOME colleges will accept the SAT scores reported by the high school counselor on the high school transcript. Others insist that the official scores be sent directly from the College Board. You should check the specific admissions requirements for the schools to which you are applying. IF they want them directly from the College Board, you should send them as soon as possible.

You don't have to rush them, but I would advise that you do send them in.

You can also make a photocopy of your SAT scorereport and send them, that's what I did and they accepted it. Also if it's on your transcripts, they'll probably accept it as well. Each school has their preference, so call the school and ask. It's always safer.
