Do you have to tell the ACT administration why you want scores deleted?

I want to delete my ACT scores, but I don't know if I have to tell them why in the letter that I have to send them in order for them to delete my scores.

You’re so paranoid about that cheating thing, LOL. No, you don’t have to tell them why.

Hey at least I feel guilty about it and don’t want to use the scores like most people probably would.

ACT: “Why do you want to delete these scores”

You: “I feel these scores do not reflect my true understanding of the material … I want a sitting which better reflects my ability to be the one schools see … so I’d like the previous sitting canceled”

I believe this would be a truthful response without throwing yourself under the bus.

PS - I think it is great you are trying to fix the issue and are NOT taking advantage of the scores … everyone messes up; the real test of character is what one does in response to their mistakes (and especially when no one else will know if you do the right thing or not)

Okay. Thank you so much :)

Does anyone by any chance know how long it would take to delete the scores? Because I have to send my transcript/applications in soon and my ACT scores are on my transcript…
