<p>It depends on the position. I’m a corporate accountant and don’t need to travel. My friend was a bank examiner and was only home on weekends. You can work for the Dept of Defense Inspector General and be away every week. So it depends on what you do with your accounting degree. Not everyone goes into auditing or public accounting.</p>

Tax -> no travel, you just go to the office and crank out work.
Audit -> Yes you travel. But it all depends on your market. If you are in NYC, or Cali your travel is within the metro area. You just commute a different direction quarter-to-quarter. If you start audit at a smaller city (think Boise, Des Moines, Jacksonville). You will want to sign up for hotel reward points.</p>
