Travel in Big 4

I've heard numerous horror stories of accountants being on the road anywhere from 30 days to 200 days a year. Does anyone know about how much travel big 4 firms require for 1st-3rd year accountants?

It all depends on your function... tax accountants don't travel as much I've heard, but auditors can travel all the time depending on the industry and their clients.

If you're in tax, there's not very much travel.

For audit, it depends on your clients and your location. If your office is in New York or Boston and your clients are all financial services firms, then most of your clients are going to be located in the city and your travel will primarily be limited to there.

If you are located in a rural area, then you can expect to travel quite a bit. Travel is, generally, limited to the region. Auditors also do not travel any where near as much as consultants do.

my sister works for pwc and they all travel alot. sometimes for a year, sometimes 6 months to places like new york, london, L.A. I live in the Bahamas so I don't know if you would travel more being in the US because you have way more accountants
