"Do you intend to apply for merit-based scholarships?"

<p>On the common application it asks for several colleges, "Do you intend to apply for merit-based scholarships?", and than a Yes or No bubble response.</p>

<p>I am really confused on what to select here. If I say Yes, do I need to fill out any extra applications to apply for a merit based scholarship? And if I say No, is there still a possibility that I will receive any scholarships?</p>

<p>I really want to know what this question is asking.</p>

<p>Is it asking if i want to receive a scholarship? Well, of course I do!</p>

<p>But if it's asking if I am going to apply separately for a national merit competition or something than no, I am not. </p>

<p>I’d say that the school would like to know whether you intend to apply for their merit scholarships. Research and answer accordingly!</p>
