Okay so I applied to all of my colleges already..and for schools that asked
"Do you intend to apply for merit based scholarship"
i marked yes thinking it was asking "do you want to be considered for merit based scholarship"

Well I realized today that they actually want you to apply separately for scholarship....and most of the deadlines passed..

is it bad that I said yes but never apply for merit based?
Should I contact the schools that i said yes for and tell them I misunderstood the question?

What do you mean by “bad”?

It’s not like they’re not going to accept you over this.

Can you still send in the apps even if they’re late?

I just mean… is it not a major problem to worry about or is it something that i should inform the school about

It’s a problem if you need the merit scholarship to afford the school. The school isn’t scratching its head wondering where your scholarship app is. They’re just going to assume that you never got around to turning it in.

If you need the merit, then quickly apply to some schools where it’s not too late to apply for merit consideration.

If you NEED the merit schlarships to attend these schools, then yes…it’s a problem. You missed the deadlines for applying for their merit awards. If you don’t really need the merit awards, oh well. Saves the school money. It will not affect your admissions prospects, if that is what you are asking.

okay that cleared things up!!! thank you :)
